Lucas Martins de Paula, an undergraduate killed by two assailants at 21 in July 2018, declared that justice has been served after Vitor Alves Karam, former owner of Baccara Bar & Grill and three security personnel (Anderson Luiz Pereira Brito (ex-instructor), Thiago Ozarias Souza and Sammy Barreto Callender), were ordered into public court.

On last Friday (17), Judge Alexandre Betini from Vara do Juri de Santos issued his decision on pronunciamento.

“Our justice system must work to prevent violent death threats”, Isaias de Paula stated to Diario do Litoral on Tuesday (21).

Four defendants were charged with triple-qualified murder: for unjust, cruel and reprehensible reasons which left no opportunity for defense for their victim.

Should they be found guilty, they could be facing imprisonment sentences that range from 12-30 years of incarceration.

Defense counsels of Karam and former securancas chief will refer to a preliminary hearing, alleging they played no part in assassination attempt.
